Albuquerque

The last week I was kickin' it in Albuquerque. And, Albuquerque is kickin' indeed. I drove the 12 hour drive from Texas to New Mexico in less than 10 hours with my buddy Kent, and spent 9 magical days out there in the desert. We recorded with Shawn Loudermilk, I met amazing new people and reunited with old friends. It's pretty IN to be LOCAL in Albuquerque, but that being said, I'll let the story speak for itself...

on our way through the destert

Kent and me stopped in the desert to pull a blown truck tire from the street. Kent is about the best travel buddy you can imagine :-)

recording with Shawn in the Albuquerque Buddhist Center
(you can check out the production on www.micha-schellhaas.com - the music will be mixed and online end of may)

First evening diving into the local scene. My friend Carrie (picture) had an art show in a prestigious local space. She is making awesome stuff...

On my second evening in Albuquerque I met Ashley. We clicked right away and she was telling me about her beatboxing. When she freestyled for me that night I fell in love with her beatboxing instantly. We met a couple more times, had a great time hanging out and I shot some videos for her. This is the first one. Looks like I catched her right on time, only 2 days later she went to meet a band in NYC, and now she will not come back to Albuquerque, but stay in NYC and make a living as professional beatboxer. Wow!!! Go Ashley...

Ashely "SAY WUT?!" freestyle Beatbox session. Part I

on my way to L.A.

And now, I am in L.A.! Just about to head down to the beach. Hmmm.... :)
